Attic Media Room

Project Brief

After a trip to Pulse Cinemas. Our client gave us the brief to create a media and gaming space on the top floor of his Lake District property.

4K Video, Dolby Atmos surround sound, mood lighting and bespoke fabric walls were all discussed to recreate the look and feel of the media room at Pulse. Of course being sympathetic to the original features of the loft room. Transforming it into the ultimate attic media room.

We were also instructed that speakers on show should be kept to a minimum to keep with the “hidden aesthetic”.

Our solution

Next, we installed in wall speakers to the front wall. Added fabric track and foam to the raised pillars to create some texture. The pillars used stretched grey leather and we sourced some Moroccan pendant lights. This created a soft glow for movie evenings. Coupled with the skirting shadow gap to aid access to the landing for toilet trips.

The Subwoofer was installed in the void space behind and ported through the stud work to create a seamless hidden aesthetic.

Finally, we opted for plaster in speakers for the rear surround channels as to not disrupt the clean aesthetic of the space.
