Lighting Design

Lighting Control Systems
A well-designed lighting control system gives you a much better way to use your lighting. Instead of large banks of switches and separate dimmers, lighting can be controlled through keypads, touchscreens, apps, sensors, schedules and smart home systems.
Lighting control allows you to create scenes for different uses, such as relaxing, cooking, entertaining, working, watching TV or leaving the property. One button can set an entire room, turn off the whole house, light a pathway, adjust multiple circuits or create the right ambience for the space.

First Fix and Second Fix Lighting Installation
Because Epixx Systems is an electrical contractor as well as a smart home and lighting control specialist, we can handle the full installation from start to finish.
This includes planning the lighting circuits, control wiring, containment, cable routes, panel locations and keypad positions during the design stage. We can then complete the first fix wiring, install lighting control panels and modules, fit keypads and accessories, complete the second fix, test the installation and commission the finished system.
By managing both the electrical installation and the lighting control system, we can make sure the design intent is achievable, the wiring is correct and the finished system is reliable.
Smart Lighting and Integrated Control
Lighting is often one of the most important parts of a smart home or commercial control system. We can integrate lighting with wider building systems to make the property easier and more intuitive to use.

Consultation
We start by understanding the project, the drawings, the design intent and how the space will be used. This may include a site visit, review of existing systems, discussion with the client or coordination with architects, designers and contractors.

Design and Proposal
We then develop a practical proposal for the lighting and control system. This can include lighting layouts, circuit planning, control locations, equipment specification, installation details and outline costs.

First Fix
Once agreed, we carry out the first fix installation, including cabling, containment, control wiring and preparation for lighting control equipment, keypads and fittings.

Second Fix
We then complete the second fix installation, including fittings, keypads, accessories, lighting control panels, modules and associated electrical equipment.

Commissioning
After installation, we test, commission and programme the lighting control system. This includes setting scenes, checking dimming performance, configuring keypads and ensuring the system works as intended.

Support and Upgrades
After handover, we remain available for support, changes and future upgrades. Lighting requirements often evolve over time, and we can amend scenes, upgrade equipment or adapt the system as needed.
